We loved the downtown area with all the little shops and seafood restaurants. And pirates, of course!
We took a ferry to Cumberland Island, an undeveloped island on the GA coast. Wild horses were on hand to greet us near the docks.
I wanted to see the ruins of some of the great mansions that used to be here. After a very long and hot hike on a different trail, we finally arrived.
no, it's not the loch ness monster. we saw two manatees swimming near the docks. They pushed up their noses and gave loud snorts like horses, but they never came too much above the water.
The next day everyone was very tired from hiking Cumberland Island. We spent a lazy morning at the pool and later we made a trip downtown to check out this ice cream place....
