As you probably know, Alex loves to read. I know, that's an understatement...Alex LOVES to read! A few months ago she was invited to join a book club at school, and they just competed in the local Reading Bowl. It was a Jeopardy-ish competition. Two teams with five members each hea
rd questions and the first one to buzz in got to answer and win points for their team. Even though we didn't win, it was a lot of fun, and Alex answered several questions correctly.
That night was the Girl Scout Father-Daugher Dance. Casey is in Brownies this year, so she and Dave got all dressed up and went out for a fun date that included a trip to McDonalds.
The following weekend Casey got dressed up again to compete in the Miss Odyssey West Cobb Pageant. Odyssey of the Mind is a school group that held the pageant as a fund raiser, and Casey has been looking forward to this since before Christmas. She was just beautiful!
We think she should have won, but she did get a trophy for runner up and she had great time!
Our annual school dance was a smash hit with the kids this year. Take the High School Musical theme, throw in a little Hannah Montana and a couple of other groups I don't know (yes, I'm old) add about 900 kids and their parents and you've got a party!
