Alex got her bike back from Casey, but only for a few weeks. Daddy took one look at her hunched over the handlebars and said
That bike's too small!
So they headed off to Target to get a new bike for my tall girl. Now everyone has a new set of wheels for summer, ready to ride like the wind.

And no, Target does not pay me for advertising. But they should!

The last day of school

Here they come, charging off the bus, ready to face the summer, popcicles in hand.

Ahh, Spring...

Spring has finally sprung, and the weather has been much finer these past few weeks. We spent a lovely Mothers' Day Sunday with Grandmother and family in Columbus. Mom and I gave Gran a park bench to enjoy in her new rose garden. As you can see, it will just about hold us all!

It just isn't Spring without Field Day. Here is Casey competing in the popular Hold a Cup of Water inside a Plunger Relay.

And who doesn't enjoy a dip in a frosty pool. So what if it's only in the mid 70's. Alex says if they opened the pool, we should get in. Of course, as Casey points out, it's much nicer to lie directly on the hot concrete.

April 30-May 5

This week Casey was Star Student in her classroom. That means she got to bring home the class mascot, who it turns out is a lovely kitty named Socks. Luckily he is stuffed. But we wanted to make Socks feel at home so we offered him a bite to eat.

Jazzy did not think this was necessary...

Later that day we took Socks with us to the school for the Evening in the Garden event. He was happy to watch Casey and her class perform a song and dance on the playground.

Socks had to go back to school on Thursday. Jazzy pretended not to notice, and went straight in for a nap. I think she looks a little sad, though, don't you?

Saturday was the annual neighborhood yard sale, so we got up early to give it a try. The girls opened a Lemonade Stand and were delighted to make their first dollar around 8:30. They worked hard at it all morning, though I think they were their own best customers in gummy sales.
