Our new house is coming together, slowly but surely, but the yard has been begging for our attention. At last, we begin!
Day 1 and 2- Trees and Leaves...
The back of the lot is so overgrown that most people don't even know there's a lake back there. I found a landscaper to come in and clear out all of the honeysuckle and poison ivy from the fence and the land behind it. We can't even walk back there! This persimmon tree by the deck is so overgrown with honeysuckle, it will have to go, along with the two dead pine trees behind it. A third pine is going to, as it is hanging dangerously over the deck.

Day 4...Clearing

Wow, the debris and trees are gone now, and our yard is so much bigger! We love our lake view, but we still step carefully back there. It needs a bit more work to be really usable. We did find another very large persimmon tree and a black walnut tree. The deer, rabbits and squirrels can have the persimmons, but hopefully we will get some of the walnuts.
Workdays 5 - 7

A few days after clearing they came in to start work on the gardens and stairs. Now the heavy equipment comes in for clearing out the beds.

Atlast, the workers are gone and my yard is ready for planting.
